HT update 15.11.19
Our lovely lollypop lady, Lorraine, has broken her toe and will be off work until Christmas. We wish her a speedy recovery.
Our Rights Knights, supported by Mr Anderson, have been talking about their plans with children in school over the past fortnight. They plan to display work linked to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child on their own display. They will also be introducing a ‘Right of the Month’ and asking all children to do a bit of home learning on this right.
We have been delighted to have our kick pitch reinstated this week. It is back to the concrete surface from before while the contractors decide on a surface that will better meet the needs of our community. Miss Wallace has organised a kick pitch rota so all the children get a chance to enjoy games.
We will keep our children playing outside at playtime and lunchtime over the winter in all but the wettest and windiest conditions. We know that this time outdoors is beneficial for learning. Please continue to send your children in to school with winter jackets, hats and gloves so the children can continue to enjoy their time in the outdoors.
We are looking at bolstering our play resources in school and I am mindful that families might be having a sort out before Christmas and a Spring clean in the New Year! If you have any of the following items then we would welcome donations:
- Wooden toys
- Train sets
- Small world toys e.g. farm animals, people.
- Toy cars and other forms of transport
- Dressing up clothes
- Construction toys e.g. Lego, Duplo, K-Nex, etc.
- Garden games for outside
- Old kitchen utensils for outside ‘Loose Parts Play’
Many thanks and have a lovely weekend,
