HT Update 6.9.19
Dear Parents and Carers,
Another busy week full of learning at our school!
School Camp
Our Primary 7 pupils have been having a blast on school camp in Lagganlia near Aviemore. They have been honing their teamwork skills and taking part in various activities including gorge walking, canoeing, abseiling and skiing. Check out our school twitter feed for pictures! I also enjoyed skiing for the first time in 20 years despite spending a lot of time picking myself off the floor!
School Hall
Work started on the ceiling in our school hall this week and we look forward to having it completed for gym lessons and serving lunches at the end of next week.
Lifelong learners
Our staff have been out on training recently. Miss Wallace and Mr Riley-Morrison were at the ‘Well-being Academy’ last week which is an event run by our educational psychology team and they were learning about how to support children in developing a positive attitude to school. We have appointed Miss Wallace and Mr Riley-Morrison to the new role of Pupil Support Officer this year and they will be supporting children with social skills and understanding their emotions.
Food Bank donations
Thank you all for your generous food bank donations last week. We have a huge donation to make and know it will make a difference in our community.
All the best and have a lovely weekend,
Chris Welander (Acting Head)
