HT update 6.3.20
As you will be aware the Coronavirus is affecting a number of people worldwide and the local authorities are working hard to ensure preparations to minimise disruption.
The guidance we have received from Health Protection Scotland highlights the following:
- Importance of handwashing to prevent spread of viruses,
- Avoiding touching hands, noses and mouths with unwashed hands
- Covering coughs or sneezes with tissues
We have been reminding our children about the importance of handwashing over the past few weeks and will continue to make this a priority. Mrs Glover and myself will address all the children over the next fortnight to reinforce these messages once more. We are receiving regular updates from head office and will keep you informed should the guidance change.
It has been a wonderful week at our school with a range of activities happening around our love of all things reading!
Massive thanks to all the parents and carers who have been reading to classes this week, it is hugely appreciated and the kids love it! We are also very grateful to Edward Ross and Alison Page who ran wonderful workshops for the children. Thanks also to the team at Ratho Library who ran some terrific ‘Doctor Book’ sessions for the children where the ‘Doctors’ on call wrote prescriptions for the children of recommended reads in the library!
It was great to see so many faces at our Book Night and as always the continued support of our families and the wider community is so important to our school!
Have a lovely weekend,
