October 03, 2019 Off By Rachel Lytollis

Dear families,

Sharing the learning events

Next Wednesday (9th October), at 2.30pm, Primary 6a and Primary 6b will be welcoming their parents and carers into their classrooms to showcase some of their learning about the Jacobites and Highland Clearances. There will be a film, work to look at and opportunities to listen to the children talk about the Jacobites.

Next Thursday (10th October) Primary 4-5 will also be sharing their learning on the Jacobites from 9am until 9.45am. The class have been working on a musical called ‘The Dangerous Life of the Jacobites’ following the lives of Rob and his family during the final Jacobite uprising.

Communication

We have been chatting in school over the last few weeks about how rapidly our school is growing and changing, and we are determined to make sure the way we work is as smart as possible and appropriate for the size of our school. To this end, we would like your help with our communication. We want to make sure the queries of our families are answered fully and by the most appropriate member of staff. Therefore, any questions or queries should be directed in the following ways:

  • Contact the school office on 0131 333 1293
  • Contact the school via e-mail on admin@ratho.edin.sch.uk
  • Visit our school office

When you do so please give us a brief reason for the communication as this would be really helpful in making sure the right person gets back in touch as soon as possible.

St Mary’s Church Dalmahoy

Massive thanks to the congregation of St Mary’s Church Dalmahoy for their generation donation of £300 to the school. We plan on using this money to support the transport of children in our Glee Choir for competitions.

Have a lovely weekend,

Chris
