HT update 13.9.19

September 13, 2019 Off By Rachel Lytollis

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another busy week at Ratho Primary School! We have been delighted to welcome Primary 7 back from a wonderful camp experience at Lagganlia – see our twitter feed for pictures from the week. We also welcomed Mr Anderson back from paternity leave after the birth of his son Hugo.

Professional Learning

Our staff continue to develop themselves as Miss Tumblety attended training on supporting children with reading and writing and I was at a Head Teacher training session at Waverley court yesterday, learning about everything from fire safety to recruitment!

Forest School Sessions

Mrs Brown and Mr Riley-Morrison have been preparing for their P1 Forest School Sessions in the new location of the community woodland and are very much looking forward to continuing the Forest experiences for our P1 children in September.

Thanks to Baillie-Gifford

We received the wonderful news recently that we had secured a grant of £1000 from Bailey-Gifford. This has allowed us to purchase a fabulous laptop trolley to keep our shiny new laptops in and will fund some outdoor learning resources too. We are so appreciative of the support our local community gives us.

All the best and have a lovely weekend,

Chris Welander (Acting Head)
